New to Church?

3T0A0779
We are a group of people who love Jesus, seek to live our lives for him and share that love with those around us.

We are so pleased you are looking into joining us.  We understand that coming into a new place for the first time can be very daunting.  We will do all we can to welcome you.

We gather every Sunday at 9.15am and 11am at

St Simon & St Jude with All Souls
Old Park Lane
Southport
Merseyside
PR9 7BQ

We have a small car park but there is plenty of on street parking.

What shall I wear?

People wear whatever they find most comfortable - shorts or shirts, dresses or dungarees!  We encourage you to do the same.

Where shall I sit?

Anywhere you feel comfortable!

What happens during a service?

Our services start with a welcome and a song.  All the words are projected on the screen so you can sing along or engage with however you feel most comfortable.

At the 11am service there will be a children's talk and a lively song then the children will go into their groups.

Someone will pray for our church and our world, there will be a reading from the Bible and then one of our church leaders will talk about the Bible reading, helping us to understand what God is saying to us through his word.

How long will a service last?

Our services are usually around an hour and a quarter.

Which service shall I come to?

Our 9.15am service is quieter, reflective and traditional.

Our 11am service is lively and informal with groups for children up to 16 years old.  You are most welcome to either service, there will be someone on the door as you arrive who will offer you a friendly "hello" and give you a hand if you need it.

What is provided for children on Sundays?

We have a creche for babies aged 0-3 and groups for children up to 16yrs.  The children will go out with the leaders into either the hall or our meeting rooms opposite the kitchen.

They will learn about Jesus through Bible stories and other activities.  You can find more about what are children have been learning here.

If your child has special needs that you would like us to be aware of before visiting us please contact us.

We take the safety of all children seriously and all our leaders are DBS checked and vetted.  You can access information about safeguarding here.

Do you make provision for people with disabilities?

We welcome people with disabilities at all our services, groups and church activities.  We have an accessible toilet and provide a loop facility for people with hearing impairment.

What is communion?

Most weeks we share communion at the 9.15am service and once a month at the 11am service.  Communion is a way in which we remember and celebrate what Jesus did for us when he died on the cross and was resurrected.  We share bread and wine together to help us remember how his body was broken for us and his blood shed for us.  Anyone who knows and loves Jesus is welcome to come up to the front to receive communion.  If you would like to come to the front to be prayed for then we would love to pray for you, or you can simply stay in your chair and watch.

What happens after the service?

We have tea and coffee together.  Please stay around to get to know us better.

I want to come to church but i'm nervous.

Please contact us to let us know you are coming and we will be looking out for you and will do everything we can to help you feel welcome.
